Rest in Peace President James Earl Carter
President Jimmy Carter was one of the most decent and honorable presidents in American history. He will be missed by the United States and the rest of the world as well.
President Carter was one of the best loved presidents we've had in the last half century. He was an example of how to live your life and how to let your light shine. He was wise and courageous, living his Christian values for the world to see. What we saw on the news was real. He was a good man who wanted the best for all Americans. James Earl Carter will be missed and the world will be a little less bright for his absence.
Our 39th president was a man who believed in God and who tried to live his life according to the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. There are a number of Bible verses that describe the way Jimmy Carter lived his life. Here are a few.
"Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6)
"Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." (Matthew 5:7)
"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." (Matthew 5:8)
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9)
He was an evangelical Christian of a type that is rare in these trying times, a progressive evangelical. He supported the Equal Rights Amendment, and while he was personally opposed to abortion, did not feel that it should be a part of any political platform. In short he was a good person and a good president. Rest in Peace President Carter.
On a more somber note, I keep reading and watching different legal scholars who say that Donald J. Trump is not qualified to hold office because of the 14th amendment. Of course that is their legal opinion. However, in November of 2023, a Colorado district judge made the ruling that Donald Trump engaged in insurrection on January 6, 2021.
My prediction is that we will see a successful certification of Donald J. Trump on January 6. A bought and paid for Supreme Court stopped the efforts to disqualify him on the state level and placed the burden on Congress, knowing that any action by that body would place it's members in danger, knowing in fact that such action could possibly even foment civil war conditions. I don't look for any heroic actions on January 6.
I place the blame for this situation squarely on the Supreme Court. I could wish for a Congress with the bravery of the Founding Fathers. However, it's understandable that current members are fearful of endangering their families and loved ones.
So in all likelihood, a president who is almost certainly constitutionally disqualified will be sworn into office on January 20.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the new Administration is the role played in it by the Trilateral Commission. The mass media had little to say about this matter during the Presidential campaign — in fact, the connection of the Carter group to the Commission was recently selected as “the best censored news story of 1976” — and it has not received the attention that it might have since the Administration took office. All of the top positions in the government — the office of President, Vice-President, Secretary of State, Defense and Treasury — are held by members of the Trilateral Commission, and the National Security Advisor was its director. Many lesser officials also came from this group. It is rare for such an easily identified private group to play such a prominent role in an American Administration.
